Trance- Its more than just music

Music helps in getting through the each day full of negative energy coming out from our culture in the form of shootings, fire and hypocritical closures of many electronic music festivals. Though music can't solve inherently any of the world problems, it can help elevate us and keep our mind and emotion free from destroying ourselves.
The quality that sets trance music apart from other genres is the absence of lyrics. This has furnished trance music freedom many times. It allowed it to develop gradually without any barrier of language making the music enjoyable for listeners globally.

Trance music is a form of dance music characterized by an emphasis on synthesized melodies 4/4 beats in electronic style which is very hypnotical and repetitive in nature. Common sounds that form the base of trance music are arpeggiated sounds from synthesizers with the help of few instruments like piano, strings, acoustic guitar etc. Trance music is often appreciated in mass gatherings and its intensity and social significance is derived in part by the shared presence of a great number of people at the venue when the music is played. Very often trance dancers at a party seem to be sharing their appreciation for the music with the people or the environment through nothing more than a gentle smile or a small gesture, trusting that the other person knows what the smile is meant to signify in a very articulate manner.

Artists like solarstone, trance-eye, Alex Wright, Stonevalley have all been taking mainroom trance and twisting and perverting to their own styles. Trance can go in many directions but that tempo, beat, emotionality whether euphoric or aggro-ones; these things really make the trance worthy. It just oozes aggressive emotions and intensity and trance forces you to get off the floor entirely. The genre's signature long builds and as the chords change with the progression it just takes the precedence over the chord of other genres.

“In trance we trust”. That's not just a slogan. It’s a feeling of knowing you can put all of yours in a sound that never lets you down. Even if the genius touch of this sound may bring some tears in your eyes it will only help to increase your excitement. When edm kicked trance to side stages the influx of new people in the scene snubbed that sound as being over or past it's time. But for true fans trance wasn't just a fad, it was a part of their soul. Every soaring melody was a spiritual experience and the heart of trance has only found itself within the die-hard fans and the global trance family.

When trance was pushed into the background during the fireworks of edm it was the fans who kept going. The connectivity between likeminded people in social media integrated a trance family making it a global phenomenon who share their love of sound and scene. Local trance family movement organized outings, road trips and bonds to share their collective love for the community. In reality trance is a passionate and emotional rollercoaster that covers a multitude of moods and vibes. It’s a connectivity among the fans as well as the reciprocated relationship with artists. Those who go deep can find a soundtrack to any mood or experience in the plethora of trance subgenres. The most recognizable sounds are progressive trance, uplifting trance. The progressive trance starts with intro as the tune progresses it brings variations within the ongoing beat in the form of melody and after a breakdown sometimes the melody keeps progressing in a reverse style keeping the originality of the structure of the beat. The BPM generally remains at 128-132.

Same with uplifting trance but the BPM generally remains at 136-142. The psytrance is also gaining a big boost globally now. The gẻnre is identified by its high energy and pounding melody structure, rolling bass lines plus a frequent changing in the beat that brings delight into the scene. The effects of reverb and delay are often used heavily to lift the emotions in this genre.

Like other electronic music genres the popularity of trance also went hand in hand with drug culture i.e. Ecstasy or LSD. In many people's eye drugs are not just part of the culture but the very foundation of the culture. To be honest the drugs are certainly a part of culture but they aren't the real reason people go for trance. Trance isn't just an excuse to take drugs and one cannot consider it as an integral part of trance. The trance enthusiasts believe that they through their music and their attitude can transcend the boundaries of everyday life. They aspire people to relate beyond the culture of social norms, they aim to experience life in a way more robust than the ordinary man's lifestyle.

EDM: The Divine Culture Of Dance Music

There is such an abundance of musical genres in the world now, it is tough to wrap your head around it. Every genre has its own culture and own identity that varies from one to another. EDM....its culture is so heavily influenced by only one entity and that entity is the biggest one in the current world. When you really consider it EDM and internet go hand in hand. And without internet edm would probably be interred deep into the ulterior. There is no doubt that edm is the most energetic musical body on the planet when it comes to the world wide web. Since the edm boom in world, the energy is increasing and its not going away any time soon. From memes to phrases, common tips to artists’ one can comfortably say that without internet edm would not be the pioneer what it has become today. The easiness of sharing things at a lightening speed to the masses in the blink of an eye really helped to start a movement, otherwise edm would have had a tough time finding its success. Twitter is highly responsible for the success of edm. Yes, there is soundcloud, snapchat, instagram and many other platforms which have helped artists to gain fame but twitter seems to be the starting point of all. Record labels having a large number of fellow artists and supporters can share a new thing with a huge number of people just in a second with a click. There are hashtags (#) that make you notice something/someone currently trending up in the industry. This is the platform where all the posts on soundcloud, snapchat and instagram can be integrated and spread to the masses like a musical plague.

Before social media and edm, electronic dance music was faceless. From the noisiest pop to industrial techno and soulful deep house to funky tribals almost everything we have been dancing to for the last three decades should be tagged as EDM. Edm is a global phenomenon. A revolution that exists nearly in every country, every city, every club, every music festival, every Radio station around the world. Djs are flying all over the world to play concerts and music festivals for millions of people. The fans know the words to all the songs, enjoy dancing to beats and love the happiness that this music brings to them. It is their escape from reality. It enables them to free.

The generation that we millennial are growing up has seen exponential growth on the internet and social media which is connecting all of us around the world. Also these days the generation likes to live young, wild and free. Edm is a perfect match for this sort of lifestyle. We do it for fun isn't it.... With every worldwide festival a new rush of photos flooded in Facebook, twitter instagram and all other social media networks from the fans themselves. No musician in the history had the power to influence the world like this in such a short period of time. The edm scene unlike any other scene in music history has prompted itself using mainly word of mouth and social media to grow into the dominant musical entity that it is today. So edm is taking the world by storm and i really don't see it ending at least in the next few years. It will be interesting to see how edm scene evolves and plays out leading into 2020.

Rolling stone Italy, a magazine released a video called Rocker vs. Dj and they had a few choices of words to say about. Edm dis and the hands up crowd are loving them. ‘They’re criminal with license to shoot shit into our eardrums’ the video says. In this place we will see a return to guitar bass and drums The music with searing voices that touches your soul,...bringing real music back to life. The attack of edm is as usual hinges on deep musical conservatism. It based on the idea that performers must be stars with the traditional instrumentations be used not complying with the authenticity of digital music, but in real sense performers should produce music..but to produce music to become a star is something shit minded thought.

The main issue is once something is successful shit happens and dozens of new clones arise. That's an obvious market legality. Its been happening for decades both in the pop and electronic music fields. Its not the shock of new, its the shock of now that counts when the topic is about dance music's value. Deadmau5 claimed in a Rolling stone cover story in the same year that some Djs are "button pushers getting paid half a million" Its true edm often is getting onstage pressing play. The button pushing critique has plagued edm from the beginning but as an argument it's deeply flawed. Edm isn't about the performance, it's about composition. Actually in it's complexity and relationship between composer and performer edm has a fair amount like classical music. If you want to take down edm in all of it's glorious intricacies you would better be ready to take down the classical canon. Its true of cultural diversity, and it's true of music, its true that it doesn't involve physical instruments but that isn't what edm is about. When a beat is well composed the world moves with it. As the creator presses play everyone surrounds to it; couldn’t matter less if the performer is a star or not.

An Enhancive Look Towards The Music Making

An ever changing desire on our own culture to find new music has been favoured by our generation to experience an incredibly wide variety of electronic genres. From electro-soul to progressive and deep house to tropical house and even future bass, we are currently watching the rise of so many different sub genres of music that are hard to fathom. Electronic music has been gradually growing in popularity over the past decade and with so many new types of music being released on a daily basis it is hard to imagine where the music 'will be in 5 years from today? Although music has been constantly evolving for thousands of years, it has somehow managed to keep its beautiful structure and melodic existence. The music production techniques made great strides in the last few decades, resulting in our current era of digital sound recording. Most traditional genres of music carry an inherent component of performance, but as music technology advances the aspect of live creation seems to diminish. The emphasis on traditional instrument is reduced in electronic music, as the producer utilizes the DAW fully from synths and drum machines to MIDI devices and sampling to create their material. Gradually the art of music production evolved from mere a recording device to a fully matured instrument, making it more complex.

When the edm craze first kicked off around 2010 it was thriving as a mostly instrumental genre, with vocal collaborators showing up on the occasional track. As the lines between electronic music and pop blurred in recent years, we have seen a rise in vocal collaborations on dance records that has given producers an edge on the chart, while shifting the emphasis away from the sound design and music production back to more traditional songwriting. Artists like Jack u, The Chain Smokers, Calvin Harris have climbed the pop charts with their vocal driven dance hits and crossed over to mainstream. If the trend of fusing traditional songwriting and dance music continues, it seems natural to expect more mainstream electronic acts to make the switch djing to live performance. There are tons of electronic artists, pushing the limits of live music by implementing their own customized performance system in their shows. These set ups are quite varied but usually feature a mixture of midi controllers, keyboard, outboard synths, drum machines, electronic drum pads as well as the presence of a live vocalist. Live shows give artists the opportunity to engaged with their audience in a unique and memorable way. The nature of electronic music grants a futuristic wave to musicians; the ability to stretch the limits of traditional performance. The technology is advancing to the point that musicians can hobble together with some compelling live kits, and its going to be exciting to see how this aspect advances in the future. Its great time for performers to push the limits of live electronic music and fill a longstanding void in the genre.

The use of computers to produce and modify sounds has given artists more control over their work, it makes them more creative and happy with the result they obtain. Traditional instruments are also going to be used, they are not going anywhere. But electronic music is here to improve the way music is produced and to enhance the overall music experience of the average listeners. Electronic music uses human intellect to progress and it’s a unison of technology and science. If we have a look on the past and present movements in the style of electronic music, we see that it has always been about the future and futurism. Composers and producers have always strived towards the futuristic sounds, electronic elements, analogue sounds and now finally they are enjoying the digital era of music, which is about to be settled in the future.Top of Form

There is no doubt that the future of electronic music is bright and it will be a great time of elation to watch its progress over the next couple of years. But with the discovery of new technologies in the past years music has been experiencing quite the transformation. Most melodies we hear today on the radio these days have been made using an electronic device and most sounds are not produced by a real instrument but by a computer/laptop. As these sounds are quite pleasing to human ears; most people has accepted these type of music as manual. This new type of music has also led to the creation of new music genres that make an extensive use of electronic sounds in their melodies. A hundred years ago No one expected music to change as much as it did in our current generation. Many may argue that electronic music in it purest sense should not actually be considered real music. Some people of the younger generation may think that electronic melodies are not just real music but they are actually the future of it and its the music what we are going to be hearing in the coming years. There is no doubt that electronic music has been growing successfully and new artists who dedicate their career to electronic music emerge everyday. New genres of electronic music keep being created while others disappear but that's just how music works and been working for the past centuries.

Becoming A Music Producer

Before getting into the Professional Act, a producer should always feel that he is always a step behind in the process of actual happening. He should be proud of and believe in whatever he is producing. People may get in touch with you once you have developed your own sound. The reality is that as a producer you need to be in it for long haul. Your style may change over the time but the actuality of yours should be present in every track you make.
A trait that every successful producer should have is the love for music. The intensity and the passion for listening, exploring, and experimenting the various aspects of music will power you up the skills you need and to be honest if you don’t love music then don’t be a producer. Listen to as much music as possible. Its your responsibility to have a large stock of music and ideas to get from when making music. When you are in the studio, be concentrated and listen to your mind what it says like try adding some drums, hard bass, or add some lead, synthesizer to to the sound etc... The result may or may not be always what you want but you will be moving in a forward direction with each day and finding your way to the perfect sound.
Notes:
A- Don’t cross any music or any artist out. Every genre of music has some beauty in itself and is worth a listen. If you don’t find anything, figure out why you don’t like it and what you want to avoid in your production.
B- Listen not just to melodies and harmonies but to the structure of vocals or tunes. Most of the time music that seems to go on flawlessly has some structural elements in it which a producer misses sometime.
C- Listen to the mix. What leaps out? What makes a song outstanding? Exclude the instrumental part and see the effect of rest of the elements to the production.
In order to get habituated with the music production software and recording process, i would love to learn one or two programs thoroughly rather than double in multiple platforms. Then choose your perfect DAW which you find easy going for yourself. All DAWs sound great and there´s nothing wrong with any of them. Its upto you to figure out which one is the most effective platform, what’s in your head to something the world can hear. It is not necessary to have all the skills functioning at a higher level before you go off and start making tracks. In fact while experiencing music production you will eventually come to know about the lack/depth of your skills, knowledge etc.... and will inspire you to learn more. It takes a long time to get your skills furnished in fact I have not yet downed myself skillfully yet. There is no guarantee that you will produce big hits, but persistency will give you the chance to be heard. Keep trying, keep learning and keep making music.

Session Workout- You face difficulty in while structuring the sound while trying to create a melody, and at the same time your drum sounds unorthodox to melody when trying to create a beat. You are trying to do too much things at one time. Every artist struggles while producing music. It’s very easy to become overwhelmed, you may feel deteriorated at times. Trying to work on all sides of music at once is inefficient and it dries up your interest, creativity and your momentum mindset. Keep musical sessions set apart from technical sessions. It will help you to focus on one area at one time. Plan out the timing of studio sessions. Fix a day for preparation of all of your sound design and then turn to your drums ahead after that. Once everything is ok upto your choice, you can then invest your creativity subsequently in creating music.
Studio Setup- Before starting the studio work always take time to ensure that everything is setup effectively. Get all your equipment ready; checking the speakers, mics, equalizers as you move on towards production to avoid any kind of interruption during the process. Be attentive to your computer. Save your project at regular intervals, and have files, samples, presets that are catalogued for easy access. Make sure to save additional audio and project files in a separate folder, so you can always find things easily once the session is over. Also ensure that your computer and hardwares are capable enough to prevent crashing and glitches and excessive heating in itself. All these things will help in smoothening your creativity flow.
Knowledgeable about DAW- It impedes the progress highly if you are not well known about your DAW plugins. Think of your DAW as your instrument, always remember the variety of instruments it has. Anything that allows to create free flow of idea in your brain makes you more efficient. Keeping detailed information about your DAW will help you in this regard.
Time Acknowledgement- Always plan a list of purposes that are to be fulfilled before starting a session and don’t forget to check the process at regular intervals. Don’t spend too much time on one aspect in order to get what you want from that. It will only make worse and you may loose concentration from other aspects. Have an imaginary time limit. If you are having trouble in any one part of the project leave that for a certain time and then come back to it and analyze it. Always assess your goals and mark those areas where you need to put more attention than others. Aim for improve and progress with each session.
Prevent disturbance- We are all passionate about making music but external influences somehow gets stuck in the midway. Try to eliminate those elements which you think will cause the potential distractions before a studio session. Keep all your social accounts closed and disconnect yourself from the internet world. Don’t go out to meet your friends, if they call simply tell them to leave you for certain hours. Now focus with full attention on your DAW.
Self Inspiration- Take some break in case of mental tiredness. During breaks listen to your favorite music, don’t go out with friends and also don’t watch any movie, reality show etc.... these all will divert your brain into some other activities. If you always start track with the kick button try begin some tracks with the help of synthesizers, or vocals. Applying creative approach during the music production will help in boosting your excitement and can be self-aspiring. But on the other side you may feel pressurized of yourself if you are not getting good sound out of your creativity. This is where a producer’s patience will be tested out. Stick to your love, you will never feel burdened to be sticked to it.

An Evolvement Being Accepted By The Electronic Generation

Taking a deep look into the history of music industry,
music has quite accordingly evolved with the time
and generations. The music industry is in rollercoaster move for some time now. There are start-ups; plenty of young talented and aspiring artists who want take some smacks on chin. Before digitalisation age, artists only aim to gain fame was to get signed by a record label, but now artists have their own control, though some still prefer record labels. Before digitalisation studios were full of costly and heavy equipments and those were meant for producers and artists who have expertized knowledge.
Now as the generation goes entirely digital there is no
need to use expensive equipment and it gets easier
for people to learn craft even if they don't have a bit of knowledge about the equipment. Music is one of the most beloved artistry crafts in the world. Its been around in the world more than before our civilization. It began in the way of songs, lyrics spoken in a melody but gradually musical instruments came to the course. Now a days technology impacts not only the instruments we play, but how we produce music and how we apprehend them.

The reason why most become musicians these days
is because of live music and this will continue to be
in the run though passion is playing the role of
steering wheel here. There are various platforms
available for artists to perform and share live music
videos. Some prefer to do it through youtube or
vevo, whereas some are now utilizing such
platforms to engage with fans more.

Online broadcasts that allow people to connect to music everywhere and anytime is changing the music industry quickly and the way we relate to music. If you see it from the side of a record label, the music industry
has slightly been diminished, but from listener's point of
view it is opposite. With live streaming technologies and
with an ever expanding amount of festivals year by year,
there is now more financial value in the artists performing than selling physically. We live in a growing era of shared community services and of the greatest features is the invention of program like Spotify. There is the basic advantage of spotify- if you and all your friends are members you can share more music through one platform. It can help in getting a wider fan base and be explored more. The benefit may not come directly but to be on more people's radar and it can be very tricky when planning the world tour.Spotify is not available in many countries, so streaming companies are making it possible for the most of the listeners to experience music and genres they hardly would have faced in the 20’s. Their music observation is broad and more
omnipresent everywhere

The establishment of electronic music instrument has
made it easier to produce sounds that was even out
of our thoughts before. With the internet now, we
have an infinite sources to learn music from. There
are tutorials for everything. Whether we want to play
a new instrument or we want to learn a particular
variety of music such as house. You will find
information to your learnings in the internet. It
creates no meaning, if you are an amateur
musician or a professional, internet is always there
for you to craft something new and the best part is
they all are free of cost. Current technology
makes it easier for a producer to produce their own
music but if it is used perfectly then it can also help
a musician to promote themselves.

An important factor to be considered here is that
social media introduced a new level of risk in the
music business. It has always been critical to assume
which song or artist will get success and which not.
Social media has been ingrained into most between
streaming and internet radio platforms to allow for
 instant sharing between known members.
The use of data collected within the industry have a
massive impact on the way artist and labels act.it has
become a way of marketing and promotional efforts.
Thanks to twitter and facebook for giving power to
artists to gather more data powering them
to understand the audience in a better way. Data
collected through youtube, spotify and other sources
can tell artists where they should invest more time in
touring. These tools can allow an artist/record label
to play to sell out crowds and maximize their earning
on touring and music.

In 2020 there probably will still be a range of different
models and services for acquiring and storing music and music listeners may continue to buy CDs.
Live music performances and licensing of music will
most likely constitute a bigger share of global music
economy than today and the music business may
move completely online. The most promising online
model for music right now is the subscription model,
where you pay monthly and get across to a large
music collection, but many people may feel
uncomfortable by having their favourite music
psychologically but not owing it. According to me
around 2020 people must have growned themselves
to this way of listening to music, where access will be
on peak than ownership.

Its upto the generation of musicians to take a call on
the future of music production. Every new piece of
technology may alter the business of music from time
to time.. Now a days more music is being listened,
sharing and selling than yesterday and its a trend
not likely to stop. Its upto the musicians to decide
the best possible way to get their music out for public
view and a lot depend upon people´s social view
towards that particular sound. Only time will tell whether
the future of music will be guarded by streaming services
or digital file sales(physical sale of albums) or something new.
